There are many ways of crafting easter eggs. Way back in the seventies I made a bunch of batik style coloured blown eggs. So adorable! In most years I put them on display around Easter, but every now and then I feel like trying something new ...

This time my Easter eggs are not artfully decorated, instead they are done in a very modern constructed style: 3 egg-shaped craft foam discs stuck together in the middle.
This is done very easily:
Cut out 3 equally shaped parts using a template (my egg is about 7 cm high and about 5,5 cm wide).

In order to assemble the pieces, each one has to be slit in a different place, as can be seen in the image. Place the eggs next to each other in a straight row. Divide the height in 3 sections, use a ruler to find the points where the vertical axes meet with the horizontally dividing lines and mark them.

Cut out a 2 mm wide slit along each egg's vertical axis from the edge(s) to the respective mark(s).

If the slits are cut out well, the shapes should come together nicely.
The only thing missing is the Easter grass. That's an easy one. Take a green paper napkin, cut it in strips 7 to 10 mm wide, pull the layers apart and fluff them up a bit, decorate them in a bowl, and carefully arrange the eggs in the nest. Done!
Happy Easter!
